Using Genomics Could Lead to Better Treatments for Chronic UTIs
Whole genome sequencing and analysis – performed at HLI along with MRI and other clinical tests to understand a more complete picture of one’s genetic make-up and health status – have given our team an edge to derive conclusions from compete data. One example is a paper researchers at HLI and the J. Craig Venter institute recently published that shows how full genomic approaches are better able to define the microbes responsible for urinary tract infections than conventional approaches. In this case, using whole genomic sequencing could lead to better treatments for chronic UTIs.
